JOB SUMMARY:

Manages SCBG buildings and infrastructure including visitor's center, education facility, staff offices, maintenance buildings, nursery complex, irrigation wells, and outdoor garden structures. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

50% - Essential

  • Facilities management: Develops and implements preventative maintenance strategies for buildings and structures. Performs and directs building maintenance, repairs and renovations. Works with Procurement and CU Facilities to provide cost estimates for needed contracted repairs and services. Serves as the in-house liaison for contracted building maintenance and construction projects. Manages asset and inventory processes associated with buildings and grounds.

20% - Essential

  • Site safety and security: Serves as the Building Security Coordinator for all SCBG- managed buildings and grounds. Ensures accuracy of all SCBG SciShield/BioRAFT entries and inventory. Coordinates and/or provides safety training, including fire safety, chemical and PPE use. Inspects and maintains all building and site security systems including lighting, gates and alarms.

20% - Essential

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintains and repairs or facilitates repairs for all infrastructure including HVAC, water, communication, gas and electrical lines. Responsible for requesting updates to facility maps, documenting both above and underground infrastructure.

10% - Essential

  • Grounds support: Oversees scheduled maintenance and repairs for all SCBG equipment and vehicle fleet. Assists with grounds projects as needed, including irrigation and fence maintenance. Maintain knowledge of and skill set to operate large equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • High School or Equivalent

  • Professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment.

Licenses

  • Drivers License Class A CDL

Work Experience 1+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Associate's Degree

  • Facilities Management, Utilities Maintenance or Similar

Work Experience 5+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Anticipated Salary Range ($45,500 - $62,600)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Essential Level 2 employee

Required to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
