Facilities Manager

Description:

The Facilities Manager provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the building facilities and grounds managed by the organization and those not managed by the LIU, but used by LIU staff, have the proper operational structures and systems in place to effectively support the goals of the organization and to provide for the safety and security of students and staff. This position coordinates the building maintenance, facility repairs and renovation efforts to facilities managed by the LIU and orchestrates lease agreements/memorandums of understanding with facility owners within which LIU staff are assigned. The Facilities Manager will also lead, develop, communicate and implement effective entrepreneurial growth and marketing strategies that effectively support the goals of the organization. The Facilities Manager will administer and evaluate the custodial/maintenance staff throughout the organization and oversee all cleaning services and preventative maintenance programs.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in related field/position related certification (i.e. International Facility Management Association), required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Business Administration, Business Management, or related field, preferred

• Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience with an organization of at least 250 employees

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in managing departmental budgets

• Previous experience in education, preferred

• Demonstrated knowledge of the basic principles of construction, maintenance, security, grounds keeping, custodial operations and employee safety.

• Must possess a good analytical business sense with strong organizational skills and understanding of facilities management in the efficient operations of an organization.

• Must be a team player with good communication and motivational skills that encompass the mission and vision of the LIU.

Terms of Employment:

Full-time, 260 days
