This position is located at St. Joseph Medical Center, Tacoma, WA.

What you'll do

You are an innovative leader with considerable experience managing the myriad dynamics of a healthcare facility. You have a passion for environmental sustainability and financial stewardship while persistently looking to reduce energy usage.

You will oversee the operations of a regional tertiary care facility. Responsibility will include:

Facility Maintenance, Plant Operations, Environmental Safety, and Construction. You will manage a 1,016,000 square feet acute care facility with 366 staffed beds. You will oversee operations of Facility Management by: conducting monthly department meetings; ensuring that reports are delivered in a timely manner; providing a working environment that meets all regulatory compliance; and completing and maintaining all Key performance indicators.

You can make the biggest impact by meeting these requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required with preferred emphasis on Business, Architecture, Engineering and/or Construction. Masters preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience, with a minimum of five (5) years in healthcare management, construction management, plant operations, or medical equipment management. Progressive management experience (may have served in lead position or acted in absence of management.).

  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) required. Must obtain if not already certified.

  • Must demonstrate financial, human resource, and operational management skills.

  • Experienced in blue print reading, building codes, N.F.P.A., O.S.H.A., DOE, etc.

  • The Joint Commission, or DNV. EOC requirements, policy and procedure development and implementation.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
