Role Summary/Purpose

Ensure proper Facilities management at SSG, a growing division of L3Harris.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all facilities planning, including major and minor moves and all building modifications.

  • Responsible for managing the maintenance of the physical plant systems.

  • Responsible for maintaining projections and forecast for Facilities Utilization

  • Interprets and administers existing policies; develops, documents, implements and communicates changes to existing policies, processes or procedures as required.

  • Ensures emergency back-up plans and systems are in order and maintained.

  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.

  • Prepares reports, analyze data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. Additionally, reports KPIs and Metrics monthly.

  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

  • Tracks, analyzes and improves key facilities/maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.

  • Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate facilities, maintenance and repair work in process areas.

  • Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians.

  • Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.

  • Supervises facilities technicians; lead, direct and assign work, perform all employee feedback and reviews.

  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

  • Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the Facilities and Maintenance are met at all times.

Qualifications / Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Engineering in relevant discipline. * 10 years of progressive experience in Facilities Management with demonstrated success meeting key objectives. Competencies / Desired Characteristics * Technician/electrician background is a PLUS! * Ability to business correspondence, scopes of work and procedures. * Ability to communicate orally and in writing, as well as prepare visuals to relay information regarding facilities and plant equipment. * Ability to perform comprehensive mid-level troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment. * Ability to identify, use and apply software packages to create and streamline systems for managing facilities and plant equipment/systems. * Ability to coordinate the installation, maintenance and repair of facilities, coordinate contractor bids for facility upgrades and expansion projects, and oversee timely completion of construction projects. * Proficient in CAD and MS Office (Word, Power-point, Excel). * HVAC, forklift, training or certification required. Six Sigma certification desired. * A high level of organizational skills and ability to prioritize work of department. * Ability to manage time and complex, deadline-drive workload, including planning, organizing, setting reasonable priorities and good follow-through. * Excellent negotiation skills. * Logical decision-making using sound professional judgment. Working Conditions * Fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
