Position Summary

Under general supervision, receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail. Collects and processes outgoing mail. Operates postage machine and other mailroom equipment as needed. Provides set-up and take-down support to ensure the success of all MECU events. Assists with supply procurement and distribution when needed.

Education

  • High School Diploma, Required

  • General Education Degree (GED), in lieu of H.S. Diploma

Experience

  • One (1) year, working in a mailroom Preferred

  • Stock clerk or shipping/clerk a plus

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Sort mail according to destination and type, such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders, and payments.

  • Sort incoming mail for distribution and dispatch outgoing mail

  • Stamps date and time on incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.

  • Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.

  • Computes total cost of items purchased, using calculator.

  • Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of various Credit Union events.

Qualifications and/or Additional Functions

  • Valid Maryland Drivers License with clean driving record Required

  • Ability to work in fast moving environment

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Saturday hours may be required.

Position Specific Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift/move objects up to 75 pounds
