Summary
Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment in Facilities Management maintained facilities and structures.
Essential Functions
Install and repair electrical lights, power wiring fixtures and devices, appliances, and components inside Facilities maintained buildings and structures;
Inspect and keep detailed logs on electrical equipment for damage and proper operation;
Perform maintenance on electrical low voltage controls and devices to include Access Control, BAS managed controllers, and minor HVAC low voltage controllers;
Prepare specifications on, and order a variety of electrical tools, parts, and equipment to maintain viable diagnostic and inventory levels;
Oversee ordering of supplies and equipment as needed to maintain proper stock level;
Supervise and participate in the maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical systems in maintained facilities; including HVAC Safety Controls and Switches;
Understanding and Application of Low Voltage Systems and Controllers;
Maintain detailed and categorized records of work performed;
Prepare and submit required permit applications;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional four years electrical installation and repair experience under the supervision of a Master electrician. Possession of a journey electrician license. Journey license requires four years work as an apprentice under a Master electrician, and passing an examination.
