Facilities Maintenance Worker
Department: Community Reintegration Center
Full-time, Hourly
Salary Range: $28.19 - $32.20/hr
Job Summary
This job supports and completes activities related to the repair and maintenance of the buildings and grounds called the Community Reintegration Center (CRC). The objective is to respond to requests for repair and preventative maintenance required and requested by staff of the facility. The position exists to maintain the facility in a safe and secure environment for the staff and inmates to work and live.
Schedule: This position typically works on 1st shift Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends.
Job Responsibilities
Ability to safely and properly operate: dump trucks, plow trucks, loaders, forklifts, transport vans, buses, power tools, hand tools, power washers, pallet jacks, compactors and computers.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; ability to push and pull up to 200 lbs.
Other duties as assigned.
Required License/Certification, Education and Experience
Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
High School Diploma or GED required
One (1) year or more work experience in Facility Maintenance, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC required
Preferred License/Certification, Education and Experience
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
Pesticide Applicator License preferred
Forklift certification preferred
High lift certification preferred
The CRC is unique in that it houses over 2,000 people at any given time 24 hours a day. Requests come in at all hours and anytime of the week. Completion of requests are usually required immediately. Maintenance staff must assess a problem and implement a solution in a short amount of time. We pride ourselves on quick response and repair times, which are quicker than many other facilities are used to.
Note: This Original Examination is open to current residents of the State of Wisconsin. The selection process will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: education and experience evaluation; written, oral, or performance tests, or other assessment methods.
