Main purpose of job:

The primary purpose of this job is to troubleshoot and maintain production equipment along with performing basic general facilities maintenance, service, and repairs to equipment and machinery.

Main job responsibilities:

• Performs Monthly preventive maintenance and inspections on all major facility equipment within one or more facilities.

• Apply skills, experience and general knowledge to a wide range of complex tasks to troubleshoot (including Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical issues with production operations equipment), adjust, install, repair, dissemble, replace, reassemble, and maintain equipment or facilities.

• Ability to understand and trouble shoot PLC programed equipment.

• Maintain, Organize and ship Hazardous materials.

• Works with outside contractors when necessary, which may include procuring, parts and services.

• Performs all general maintenance functions.

• May assist other departments and engineer with facility and mechanical tasks.

• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

• Devises new solution to problems encountered.

• Work independently to perform and complete assigned work orders on time.

• May perform training of Associates on production equipment.

• May identify electrical issues in systems or equipment as they occur.

• May perform unsupervised "walk through" of facility to monitor, check and report on conditions.

• Performs other duties as required.

• Investigates, develops, and implements new process technologies of small to moderate scope.

• Collaborate with development, customers, suppliers and cross-functional peers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and cost reduction.

• Create and execute validation protocols, processes and material evaluations

• Adheres to Viant Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

Position Requirements

Knowledge/Education:

• Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.

Job Experience:

• 7 years of maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments.

Skills/Competencies:

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer and Microsoft Office applications (excel, outlook, word, etc).

• Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment and work with other departments.

• Knowledge of refrigeration and mechanical systems and solid troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic & hydraulic pressure systems. Must possess excellent mechanical and basic electrical knowledge, aptitude, and principles. Knowledge of CMMS and building automation systems is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Must be available for occasional weekend work
