Salary Range:
Maintenance Technician I-II Facilities: $21.36 - $31.60 hourly
Sr. Maintenance Technician Facilities: $25.44 - $34.35 hourly

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintenance Technician I-II
Performs maintenance, repair, painting and cleaning on municipal property, structures, and facilities. Cleans and clears debris and refuse from Town property.
Operates tools and equipment in the maintenance and upkeep of designated Town buildings.
Submits requests for supplies and maintains inventory for maintenance and repair work.
Maintains maintenance records related to work orders through a computer-based system.
Inspects property, structures and facilities for maintenance needs and safety hazards. Reports and creates work requests for general maintenance issues.
Utilizes various manual, gas, and hand-held electrical tools and equipment in the installation and upkeep of area of expertise. This may include saws, welders, drills, hammers, shovels, snow blowers.
Responds to public concerns, complaints or questions regarding general maintenance repairs.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
This position will assist with snow removal for Town facilities which will include light duty trucks, hand shovels and other snow removal equipment.
Sr. Maintenance Technician
Performs painting, cleaning, preventative maintenance and repair on municipal property, structures, and facilities. Cleans/clears debris and refuse from Town property.
Submits requests and may order supplies and maintains inventory for all maintenance and repair work.
Maintains maintenance records and creates work orders through the CAFM system.
Responds to public concerns, complaints or questions regarding all aspects of area of expertise.
Inspects property, structures, and facilities for maintenance needs and safety hazards. Recommends and coordinates renovations and improvements.
Operates simple to complex equipment in the maintenance and upkeep of area of expertise. This may include bucket truck, scissor lift and snowplow truck.
Utilizes various manual, gas, and hand-held electrical tools and equipment in installation and upkeep of area of expertise. This may include saws, welders, drills, hammers, shovels, snow blowers.
Performs/coordinates routine and specialized maintenance and repair on equipment used in area of expertise.
Assists contractors and provides drawings or information for construction projects.
Coordinate repair and maintenance projects with vendors and Town departments as assigned.
May assist in training and/or onboarding new employees.
Shares pager duty on a rotating schedule.
Responds to after-hours calls for service.
Reviews drawings for the repairs or capital improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
The Facilities Division is looking to fill one vacancy. The chosen candidate will be offered the Technician I, II, or Sr. Maintenance Technician position based on the combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Maintenance Technician I Facilities: Generally, a High School diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of general maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Colorado Driver's License is required.
Maintenance Technician II Facilities: Generally, a High School diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years' previous experience in building maintenance or closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Colorado Driver's License is required.
Sr. Maintenance Technician Facilities: Generally, a High School diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years' progressively responsible experience in building maintenance or related area of expertise; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A valid Colorado Driver's License is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Maintenance Technician I-II
Ability to work with and interact in a positive customer service-oriented manner with both internal and external customers.
Knowledge of the various types of semi-skilled manual work performed in maintenance and repair of area of expertise.
General knowledge in the various types of manual, gas or electrically powered tools, equipment and machinery employed in maintenance.
General knowledge of potential hazards of the materials and equipment used in performing tasks
Ability to understand verbal information and instruction and explain information in situations which may adversarial.
Ability to read and understand written material. Ability to translate verbal communication into effective written material, e.g., reports and other documents.
Ability to use basic mathematical skills in making basic calculations.
General knowledge of building construction.
Sr. Maintenance Technician
Thorough knowledge of the various types of semi-skilled manual work performed in maintenance and repair of area of expertise.
Advanced knowledge in the various types of manual, gas or electrically powered tools, equipment and machinery employed in maintenance, installation and/or repair of area of expertise.
Thorough knowledge of potential hazards of the materials and equipment used in performing tasks.
Skill in operating machinery and equipment and utilizing tools used within area of expertise.
Ability to understand verbal information and instruction and explain information in situations which may be adversarial.
Ability to read and understand written material, Ability to translate verbal communication into effective written material, e.g., reports and other documents.
Ability to utilize computer-based/app-based work order management system for entering, tracking and updating maintenance work.
Ability to use basic mathematical skills in making basic calculations.
In-depth knowledge of construction and underground utilities.
Skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to travel to various Town facilities.
Physical Demands:
Moderate physical work to include lifting and moving objects 50 lbs or less
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to travel to various Town facilities
Frequent performance of activities requiring a full range of body movement including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, and/or twisting
Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate tools and electrical equipment as well as for driving equipment and vehicles
Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information
Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens
Work Environment:
Works both indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to all weather conditions
Regular exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals
Equipment Used:
Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, fingerprinting and driving record check prior to commencing employment.
