Position Description:

The primary responsibility of the position is to perform routine and preventative maintenance at all facilities to include space planning, work station alterations, and furniture moves. Additional responsibilities would include assisting senior level positions in the troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs on buildings, HVAC systems, fire systems, furnishings, corporate vehicles, grounds maintenance and equipment maintenance. Works with contractors and vendors to validate that work is completed as committed, and are consistent with service level agreements (SLA). Assist vendors in the completion of projects as required.


Essential Job Duties and

Responsibilities:

Conducts building maintenance by performing routine and preventative maintenance at all facilities to include space planning, work station adjustments, and furniture moves.

Assists vendors/contractors with building access and to assist with contracted jobs as needed.

Assists with the maintenance of corporate vehicles.

Assists with periodic inspections at assigned facilities.

Assists with unexpected emergencies such as power outages, equipment failures, damage to buildings, security breaches, water and sewer damage.

Other duties as required

Minimum formal education required for this position:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum work experience:
2+ years' experience in an industrial, commercial, or facilities operations setting

Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of skills associated with the one or more of the following areas: Carpentry, Electrical systems, Fire/Safety systems, Plumbing, HVAC, Painting, and Grounds Maintenance.

  • Understanding of preventive maintenance requirements for motor vehicles.

  • Knowledge and skill in the types and uses of small hand held tools & power tools.

  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in connection with maintenance tasks including, but not limited to electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, machine operation, climbing equipment (ladders, scaffolds, rigging, etc), hand-tools, chemical solvents, and cleaning agents.

  • Ability to comprehend and learn state and local laws, rules, regulations and codes relevant to the trade.

  • Ability to maintain records.

  • Ability to perform basic math.

  • Ability to read and interpret such documents as technical and equipment operation manuals, plans, specifications, blueprints, etc.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Able to communicate details of a situation clearly and concisely.

Certifications required:

  • Valid Colorado State driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

  • Must obtain 30-hour OSHA certification within six months of hire date.

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying extremes of heat, cold, or other environmental factors. Work area may contain potential environmental hazards (dust, debris, project materials, etc.). Awareness of work area conditions at all times to ensure proper equipment is used/ safety procedures are followed is critical. Must be comfortable climbing to and working at building roof heights on scaffolding, ladders, or other specialized equipment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using small hand tools, and operating a telephone. Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of a construction environment must be able to see fine detail and make precision adjustments or material modifications using hand tools. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with internal/external customers or vendors under varying circumstances. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle to multiple locations daily as situations emerge.

Maintenance Technicians perform routine maintenance and repairs of buildings, equipment, and utility systems; perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections; work on special projects as requested, and perform required safety inspections. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provides high level of customer service * Adheres to AutoZone dress code * Ability to travel overnight frequently * Maintains a safe driving and working environment, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) * Performs routine store visits to identify and perform building and ground repair work. * Performs preventive building maintenance duties on retail AutoZone stores in a geographical area * Performs routine and general repair maintenance, as well as, troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or maintenance * Grades and reports stores physical conditions and appearance via electronic media * Creates, manages and monitors necessary work for all assigned stores in Work Order Management System * Assists with identifying vendors in support of stores * Performs diagnostics on Energy Management System * Properly maintains vehicle(s) and takes the necessary steps to report vehicle maintenance * Ability to work all the hours (of operation) that we are open for business * Follow all company policies, procedures and management direction, including all fleet and safety policies * Performs other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) * Trade or Technical School courses preferred but not required * 1-2 years previous Maintenance experience or equivalent education (additional experience and/or education a plus) * HVAC certifications preferred but not required * Electrical, plumbing, and general construction skills * Valid driver's license and ability to meet AutoZone's driving requirements * 21 years or older Autozone, Inc.
