Your Role at Baxter
As the Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will join the Skaneateles site's team of skilled trades to install, maintain, tackle, repair equipment and infrastructure that is essential to Baxter's success.
The Skaneateles facility consists of 450,000 Sq. Ft. of clean and modern manufacturing productions, warehouses, offices, and labs committed to sales, production, and customer service for Baxter's Welch Allyn family of medical devices.
What You'll Be Doing
Perform maintenance & repair for all general mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems
Perform tasks such as construction, painting, drywall installation/repair, flooring repair, cleaning, setup/teardown of events, and general property maintenance
Utilize building management systems to monitor and respond to alarms and faults
Continuously improve safety by promptly identifying and addressing safety related issues and emergencies
Keep accurate records of assigned work through SAP, Including PMs and Work Orders
Provide expertise to update preventative maintenance procedures and program
Connect with internal customers to review & schedule work as necessary
Work directly with suppliers and contractors to support procurement of materials and services vital to support operations and maintenance activities
Must have own hand tools, receive specialized tools provided by the company.
What You'll Bring
High School diploma/GED or equivalent certification
5+ years as a facilities maintenance preferred
Building Trades Certification or equivalent certifications desired.
Ability and experience to work safely in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in building trades
Expertise troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Ability to work independently with minimal direction & make decisions
Ability to read and interpret building schematics and mechanical drawings
Excellent interpersonal skills with team members, customers, leadership, and contractors
Familiarity with safety programs, including, LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Fall Protection
Valid driver's license
Able to work evenings, weekends, & be on-call as work dictates
Comfortable to work from an elevated position using ladders or electric lifts
Lift & carry 50lbs
Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office
Complies with company policies including Environment/Health/Safety, 5S/Housekeeping, Compliance, and Quality.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $93,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
