Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, for the overall maintenance and mechanical functions of the site. All repair work performed in a workmanlike manner and detailed in written documentation for dissemination to the actively reporting teams and management. To act in a communication role between the specialized vendor trades and management for clear and concise decision-making while maintaining upkeep of all active parts of the building during shift. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician performs all duties in compliance with company policies, procedures, and NYC Building codes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including repairs, installations, and renovations.

  • Schedules and performs and/or supervises maintenance on site equipment based on operating manuals, manufacturer's recommendations, and site practice. Site equipment for which preventative maintenance schedules is implemented includes, but is not limited to: HVAC, Metal and Stone, Lighting, Vertical Transportation, etc.

  • Accompanies outside vendors providing access and escalation as necessary to Management.

  • Documents repairs and vendor actions with clear and concise language, noting times of arrival and departure on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual basis.

  • Maintains vigilante and active communication and response time to problems reported in real time by the other teams on mobile application Slack and Outlook email.

  • Establishes a schedule for and participates in standby emergency coverage for evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Regularly inspects the premises to verify adherence to fire and safety codes, regulations, and proactively addresses any potential risks by making necessary repairs and improvements.

  • Will be part of the communication and problem-solving implementation with reporting Operations and Supervisors.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

  • $33.00 - $33.00/hour

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience in various maintenance areas including: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building operations.

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of maintenance procedures.

  • Familiarity with BMS , Monday.com, and Slack is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be service oriented.

  • General computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Specific licenses and/or certifications may be required (IE OSHA 10 minimum).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be on feet for extended periods of time during an 8-hour shift.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and utilize scaffolds.

  • Must be able to endure walking, squatting, bending, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crawling and prolonged standing.

  • Must be able to use hands to grip tools and fasteners, use hand tools and some light power tools such as drills.

Tentative Work Schedule (Subject to Change):

  • Tuesday- Saturday 3pm-12am (Sunday & Monday off)
