Facilities Maintenance and Operations Technician
About the Role You will:
Respond to in-house mechanical emergency service calls, and conduct repairs throughout the facility. Perform the following, but not limited to; assembly of system furniture, general painting, sheet rocking, carpentry/construction, masonry, floor, wall and ceiling tiling, general restroom repairs including plumbing, moving of equipment, uncrating/crating of equipment, demolition and disposal of building materials.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and support systems, perform predictive/preventative maintenance on machinery such as air compressors, process vacuum equipment, pumps, snow removal equipment, etc. Work with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation of production equipment and assist in the repair of building plumbing and support equipment as required in the production process.
Troubleshooting, operation/programming and maintenance of Building Control System (currently Alerton's Envision for BACtalk 3.0).
Operate and maintain high purity and waste water treatment systems independently, read, log and interpret associated meters and gauges. Obtain water samples and conduct analysis to ensure regulated discharge requirements.
Building and Grounds Maintenance including but not limited to painting, snow removal, lawn care, sprinkler repair, janitorial and general building mechanical repairs.
Understand and respond to facility support systems including (fire detection/suppression, BCS alarms)
Assist management in determining predictive/preventative maintenance schedules on equipment and systems. May perform welding and soldering incidental to repair and maintenance tasks. Assist in providing technical support to other maintenance personnel. Perform related work as required, including miscellaneous functions that support business operations.
Assist in inventory and preventative maintenance schedules from vendor manuals and equipment performance history using the department support system software. Maintain records for work order tracking, maintenance schedules, material usage and time card tracking. Perform work with minimum supervision. Interface with vendors, customers and plant engineering at various levels to complete projects assigned to them and provides written and verbal status reports on said projects. Qualified to conduct inspections of projects for safety, quality and compliance to local and plant standards/codes.
About Our Group
The technician maintains general facilities building and grounds, supporting operations. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager and will support Seagate's 400,000 square foot, highly technical facility located in Shakopee, Minnesota. Current team includes 2 Maintenance, 3 Maintenance/HVAC Tech (this will Req. will make 4) & 2 electricians nearly all of whom have been with Seagate for over 30 years and assigned to this SHK site since its opening in 1999.
Flexibility and well-rounded competencies as will be involved in all aspects of maintaining the site including On Call coverage for 1 week stretches approx. every 8 weeks.

Your Experience Includes:
Relevant experience in a similar role
MN Boiler Operators License (interest in obtaining/upgrading)
Building Control Systems (Alerton's Envision for BACtalk 3.0 is current BCS System looking to upgrade and possibly shift to new in FY20Q2) (October-December 2019)
Knowledge of Trane Centrifugal Chillers, Hot Water Boiler System, Multiple centrifugal pumps, pneumatic and electric valve
Clean Room experience/exposure
Desire controls/PLC experience
Location: Shakopee, Minnesota
Shift: 4 days a week - 10 Hours Days (6:00am-4:30pm). Likely Tuesday to Friday (with some overtime).
