Description Overview

The Facilities Lead is responsible for providing leadership and support to the maintenance mechanics in order to ensure the safe, sanitary, and profitable operation of the manufacturing facility. This includes facilitating root cause analysis of technical issues, leading maintenance teams in planned and reactive maintenance work, and ensuring optimal PM content and execution intervals for production equipment. The Facilities Lead will also participate in maintenance activities in a hands-on fashion.

Scope of the Role

  • Review and complete daily Maintenance Foundation Documents, SAP/AMM, and record keeping.

  • Evaluate training needs and provide necessary support to ensure mechanics are properly equipped to perform their jobs.

  • Ensure compliance with preventative and predictive maintenance, on-time completion, and regular reviews and updating of PM tasks.

  • Collaborate with Production and maintenance planners for PM planning and scheduling cycles.

  • Provide inputs for the development of annual budgets for maintenance, engineering, and compliance.

  • Develop, teach, and mentor team members.

  • Write, review, and revise departmental SOPs related to Engineering and Maintenance.

  • Work cooperatively to drive EFCA compliance to excellence.

  • Participate in production efficiency improvements using problem-solving tools.

  • Participate in Perrigo Work System (PWS) tasks such as Shift Hand Over (SHO) meetings, Daily Operational Review (DOR) meetings, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) problem-solving, Breakdown Analysis (BDA), Engineering DMAICs, and White Belt Projects.

  • Review key performance indicators for daily performance.

  • Participate as a core member of TPM-PM Pillar and PWS Teams, owning Systems and Tools.

  • Prepare for and facilitate team meetings when required.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Safety, Production, Quality, and all support functional groups.

  • Write work orders, coordinate purchase orders (POs), and estimates.

  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors for spares and after-sale support for maintenance.

  • Communicate with the entire internal and external customer base and troubleshoot facility, utility system, and personnel problems.

  • Follow factory safety and environmental objectives and targets.

  • Follow plant safety rules, report incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety and Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.

  • Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce environmental impacts.

  • Promote paper, electricity, and water conservation, as well as recycling.

Experience Required

  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience

  • Experience with automation systems for process controls preferred

  • Experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.

  • TPM experience, Industrial Boiler Training preferred.

  • Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator, Refrigerating Engineers & Technical Association Training and credentials
