The Facilities & Maintenance team are a robust and energetic team that work well together and is cohesive. We are tasked to perform all types of facility work and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner. The work that we do and the environments we may encounter can be challenging at times but ensure we always stay safe. We have good working relationships with each other and with other departments and support each other every day.

Who we are looking for:

The Facilities and Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist will be tasked to complete a variety of trades projects and maintenance work. Because of this, the candidate we are in search of will need to be both team-oriented and self-motivated individuals. They need to be able to work in a team and also take initiative to complete the task at hand in timely fashion. In addition to this, the candidate must be willing to learn new skills and abilities to help themselves and other around them grow. Overall, this candidate will want to see the team and the people they serve succeed and win together.

If this sounds like you, this is what the role looks like:

As the Facilities and Infrastructure Specialist, you will perform general HVAC, carpentry, plumbing and electrical (both AC & DC) work with specific instruction involving the maintenance, alteration and repair of facilities and infrastructure network and equipment. Other essential job functions include:

  • With specific direction and instructions specialist can perform

  • General testing and maintenance of Telecom DC power plant equipment

  • General HVAC work involved in the maintenance, alteration, repair, and restoration of HVAC equipment and /or

  • General carpentry work involved in the maintenance, alteration, repair and restoration of buildings and related structures and /or

  • Installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, appliances, fixtures, and related devices and /or

  • Installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems, appliances, fixtures, and related devices.

  • Specialist is provided specific instructions in the work involved as described within the blueprints, sketches, and diagrams

  • Applies safe work practices on the job

  • Maintains work records and data into desired infrastructure database

  • Paints buildings, offices, equipment and furniture

  • Performs related duties as required

Candidates must show:

  • Ability to promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners

  • Technical skills

  • Working knowledge of computer systems/software and computerized billing
  • Oral presentation skills
  • Comfortable with delivering briefings and reports to colleagues, conduct training sessions, and any other tasks related to speaking in front of an audience
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment; must be detail-oriented and accurate in work

  • Attendance/Punctuality

  • Consistently at work and on time for scheduled shift and department or customer scheduled meetings; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Decision-making
  • Makes sound, well-informed, fact-based decisions and seeks guidance when needed.

Here's what you need to have:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Two (2) years of carpentry, plumbing and electrical experience in the maintenance, alteration and repair of facilities and infrastructure; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the minimum knowledge, abilities, and skills.

  • General knowledge of the standard methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment of the HVAC and/or carpentry and/or plumbing and/or electrical trades and repair of facilities and infrastructure

  • General knowledge of shop mathematics

  • General knowledge of local HVAC, carpentry, plumbing and electrical codes

  • Ability to apply safe work practices on the job

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

  • Ability to maintain work records and infrastructure database

  • Work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends and holidays)

  • Work in other locations as the needs of the business as required

  • Possess of, and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license
