The current vacancy is in Facilities Maintenance - Plumbing. This recruitment will also be used to establish a Citywide list which may be used to fill future vacancies.

A Facilities Equipment Technician I primarily performs skilled work in one or more mechanical equipment trade areas such as: plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC/R); electrical; evaporative coolers; and other mechanical equipment in City buildings. Work assignments are varied, and may be received verbally or in writing.

When required, the employee exercises lead supervision over semiskilled and unskilled workers. This class performs other related duties as required.

Duties are performed according to general or specific instructions, and work may be inspected by a supervisor or foreman while in progress or upon completion. Responsibilities require initiative and independent judgment in troubleshooting malfunctions and determining the proper method of repair.

A Facilities Equipment Technician I is subject to stand-by duty and 24-hour call-out. Employees are required to use appropriate safety equipment and procedures in performing assignments. This class is FLSA nonexempt.

Employees in this class may progress by noncompetitive promotion to a Facilities Equipment Technician II upon meeting the specific criteria-based promotion requirements of performance and certification.

VIEW JOBS 3/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-13T00:00 SUMMARY Track and maintain Ground Support Equipment (GSE) vital to MDHI's daily operations and to maintain compliance with Ground Flight Risk (GFRC) requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. * Track all MDHI GSE whereabouts, condition and maintenance requirements. * Manage inventory of all GSE. * Perform routine maintenance as well as minor/major repairs on GSE. * Perform overhauls on necessary GSE. * Respond to maintenance calls when required and/or requested on GSE. * Comply with company safety program and training * Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area * Other duties may be assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None Qualifications SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Basic tooling knowledge is required * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Power Point * The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required. * Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. * The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team. * Access to Export Control Information. * Regular attendance at the worksite.
