GeneralSummary Plans, conducts and directs engineering projects or studies includingcomplete projects requiring advanced knowledge of a specialized field. Familiarwith the CP and BOD approach. Appliescomprehensive and diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practiceswithin broad assignment areas.
The FacilitiesEngineering Technician isresponsible for providing direct to the Engineering & Property Managementtechnical team and process support. Additional responsibilities include:
Maintaining current knowledge andadhering to provisions of FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, equipmentspecifications and process specifications
PMP Certified Project Management ishighly preferred.
Follow appropriate safety practicesto prevent accidents to self or others.
Understanding or work site safety inmfg or construction environment.
Demonstrated leadership in previousroles and understanding of construction requirements.
Preparing and maintaining accuratedocumentation for adherence to GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations
Familiar with J&J Softwareapplications ETQ, Maximo, Instantis, Qlik, Crystal Clear, Ariba, eMarketplace ahuge plus.
Utilizing Process Excellence tools& FPX project models
Follow all laws and policies as theyapply to one's job and to maintain the highest levels of professionalism,ethics and compliance to credo.
Creating, reviewing, and updating projectscopes along with CP & BOD coordination.
Investigating alternative methods andprocedures to reduce variability and improve equipment reliability, processwith knowledge of POET tools.
Participate in and understand allcompliance related activities pertaining to the job assignment, ability toorganize and manage work teams at all levels. .
Work and communicate with others ina team environment; interface with co-workers and support functions to resolveproblems.
Cross-train and support other areasas training requirements permit to cover absences and other needs. Experiencedtrain the trainer.
Coordinates inspections and tests of machineryand equipment to detect malfunctions as required.
Oversees the dismantling of defective machinesand equipment and the installation of new or repaired parts with contractors.
Coordinatesand insures maintenance logs, part requisitions, preventive maintenance inspectionrecords and other required maintenance documentation
Perform project review & processrequirements in assigned area to meet safety, quality, compliance andproduction goals as well as training requirements.

Good organizational skills and theability to handle multiple tasks required
Willing to work extra hours and offshifts when required by business needs.
Provide written reports and detail projectdocumentation in Microsoft project if needed..

Identify and implement ideas andsolutions to support initiatives for process improvements.
Support new equipment acquisitionefforts including machine selection, installation, validation, employeetraining, and other related equipment responsibilities as required.
Ability to support other Engineering& Property Management Service areas.
Calculatesand estimates of design costs including equipment, installation, labor,materials, preparation, and other related expenses. Researches criteria andperformance specifications for facilities and equipment required to meet uniqueoperating requirements and building and safety codes.
Experiencedfinancial acumen for large capital projects, ability to reconcile and trackspending expenditures.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
A minimum of three (3) years ofrelated experience is required.
Previous experince inproject/construction field operations is required.
PMP Certified Project Management ishighly preferred.
Understanding of MAXIMO/TPM programspreferred.
Experienced in Medical device andoperations preferred.
Strong written, verbal communicationand computer skills is required.
Advance math skills and knowledgenecessary to perform intermediate calculations related to process parameterssuch as for metal cutting technologies (speeds, feeds, rpm, etc.) is required.
Previous experience in medicalequipment validations, commissioning and understanding of quality systemsrequirements preferred.
Process and procedural knowledge is requiredto support engineering initiatives including validations, commissioning andprocess tests within an assigned area.
Must be able to work in conditionsthat may be hot, cold, heights, wet and/or noisy along with exposure to fumes,oil, coolants and other manufacturing related chemicals.
Will be required to work on feet up to85% of the time
Must be able to lift at least 50pounds
Demonstrate history of positiveinterpersonal skills showing courtesy, tact, and understanding in interactionswith coworkers, even under stressful circumstances.
Competent communication skills, bothwritten and verbal are required.
This position is located in Monument, CO and may require up to10% travel domestically and/or internationally.
