DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for design, fabrication, maintenance, installation and commissioning of platforms, process equipment and pipelines within the framework of Talos Energy's policies and procedures and in compliance of applicable regulations. This position will provide topsides engineering support and leadership as well as field support activities for Talos assets in both the Shelf and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a strong level and commitment to HSER (Health, Safety, Environmental & Regulatory) awareness and implementation in all operations.

  • Ensuring all Talos assets remain in compliance with governmental regulations and requirements, as well as interface with governmental regulatory agencies as needed.

  • Reviewing and comment on any governmental (BSEE, ABS, USCG) submittal packages or Requests for Information and ensure timely, complete, and accurate deliveries of the same.

  • Overseeing the engineering / design effort of all production and utility equipment on each respective Talos asset the Sr. Facilities Engineer is responsible for.

  • Interfacing & supporting Talos Production Operations and Talos Operations Readiness Team in regards to facilities work and construction activities.

  • Developing construction work and execution plans and engaging all parties involved in pre-mobilization planning meetings.

  • Understanding asset needs (i.e. - debottlenecking, equipment / piping or structural repairs, pipeline leak or flow assurance issues, etc.) and developing accurate cost estimates to allow for economic evaluation of each respective project.

  • Creating AFE's, tracking all project costs, monitoring and maintaining project schedules and providing updates on same.

  • Understanding, reviewing and approving engineering support / drawings / documentation in regards to facility equipment specifications and data sheets and evaluate for "fit-for-purpose" needs.

  • Communication with and supporting individual Asset Teams to allow for full economic evaluation and business planning with the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from accredited 4-year university.

  • 10-20 years of topsides / offshore engineering experience w/ significant time spent in Gulf of Mexico.

  • Topsides / Facility Engineering experience on Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Assets.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Have a strong sense of integrity, honesty, and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectively.

  • Knowledge of 30CFR 250, API RP14C, and other industry regulations, design codes and recommended practices (ASME, NACE, ANSI, NFPA) is necessary.

  • Experience and knowledge of systems, design parameters, calculations, equipment, applications of methods and materials in the Offshore Oil & Gas Facilities / Process discipline.

  • Capable of handling complex and concurrent projects with multiple facets.

  • Technical competence in facilities engineering design and construction for offshore topsides production, utilities, and injection systems, as well as offshore pipeline systems.

  • Ability to lead and direct engineering projects, lead project meetings, and meet with partners in order to solve problems.

  • Able to organize and prioritize a diverse and heavy workload.

  • Able to communicate and coordinate project work with other disciplines as applicable (i.e. - Regulatory, Reservoir, Operations, Production, Drilling and Completions, Subsea, etc.).

  • Communicate effectively, both orally in person, using a telephone and in writing with management, engineers, peers, contractors, regulatory personnel, etc.

  • Recognize personal strengths and weaknesses and be proactive in self-development.

  • Willing to work a demanding and flexible schedule as well as monitoring offshore operations and construction activities on weekends and holidays as required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.

  • Ability to travel internationally if required.

  • Ability to travel in order to make site visits to vendor facilities, offshore assets and other Talos office locations as required.

  • Ability to travel without limitation, including airplanes, helicopters and boats.

  • Ability to utilize swing ropes to access platforms offshore as required.

  • Ability to move freely on offshore assets, including stairs, ladders and lifting up to 50-lbs, and endure extreme weather conditions and hazardous atmospheres.
