Facilities Engineer

Are you a skilled facilities professional with a knack for overseeing maintenance projects and ensuring the smooth operation of building systems? We're seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Facilities Engineer in Detroit, MI!

About the Role

How you will contribute

• Oversee outside contractors, perform follow-up investigations, and monitor the results of maintenance projects, preventive maintenance, and energy management programs.

• Prioritize workloads based on shift demands.

• Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all equipment and building needs.

• Plan, schedule, and oversee all preventative maintenance operations. Direct and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules.

• Train staff in all aspects of their duties and provide input to management for performance evaluations.

• Schedule and provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of facilities and/or equipment during production and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

• Give direction on performing mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting and repair of facilities and equipment.

• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments or recommend subcontractors to address ongoing problems.

• Other duties as assigned

Your Key Qualifications

• Associates degree supplemented with related work experience.

• General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical and general maintenance procedures.

• Experience in troubleshooting, modifying and maintaining maintenance systems and equipment.

• Verbal / written communication, organization, planning, proposal drafting, computer and software skills a plus.

• Able to walk / stand for long periods of time; lift, bend, and carry moderately heavy materials or equipment.
