This position will oversee facilities and utilities maintenance and improvement for our multiple plant campus in Collegedale, TN (outside of Chattanooga). Salaried grade 5 or above depending on qualifications.

Monday

  • Friday, 8:00 a.m.

  • 5:00 p.m. (flexible hours as needed)

Job Summary

  • Lead the facilities maintenance activities and oversee projects that involve manufacturing, commercial, and office properties and utilities

  • Lead the development and management of the site's facilities long range maintenance and capital plans

  • Provide oversight of building construction, improvement and repair projects, and/or projects involving the installation, repair or replacement of building systems and infrastructure components.

  • Work closely with (prospective) building occupants to assure facilities meet their needs and business objectives

  • Manage the utilities program, including energy sustainability goals

  • Ensure compliance to applicable codes and standards, develop new work processes, and lead projects to improve Facilities Maintenance operations

  • Coordinate and support interactions with governmental officials involved in facility issues as well as property insurers, other engineering groups, contractors, and consultants

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year engineering or engineering technology degree in a relevant field from an ABET accredited program (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, construction management or building construction, etc.)

  • Minimum of five years related experience

  • Experience in facilities/utilities management, physical plant maintenance management, or facilities/utilities project engineering

  • Outstanding technical aptitude (understanding of building technical aspects and operation of building equipment and systems)

  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple-project activities

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to learn, grow and excel in a cross-functional, team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of all backgrounds at various levels; strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build consensus and foster teamwork

  • High level of initiative, assertiveness and self-direction

  • Demonstrated alignment with McKee Foods guiding values

  • Willingness to work various shifts as required to support projects and operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the following:

  • Building design or maintenance with particular emphasis on roofing, flooring, building envelope, and utilities (HVAC, steam, compressed air, water and waste water)

  • Project management of facilities-related capital projects, especially the front end planning process

  • Direct management of hourly craft/maintenance employees, and first line craft/maintenance supervisors or forepersons

  • Working knowledge of related building and utility codes and ability to apply them to industrial and commercial buildings

  • Knowledge of building construction and equipment installation processes

  • Knowledge of world-class facilities maintenance practices

  • Lean/process improvement experience

  • Working knowledge of sanitary design principles
