Job Description:

  • Conduct technical reviews and oversight of designs for complex structural/civil projects for advanced aeronautical manufacturing plant;

  • Perform limited designs for structural/civil systems and components for a variety of government industrial facility;

  • Ensure that submitted and created designs conform to recognized codes and standards; provide structural/civil analysis, technical specifications and details;

  • Verify and perform simple design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment;

  • Interact with senior personnel on significant technical matters that often require coordination between multi disciplines and organizations; assist in developing technical solutions to complex multi disciplines problems which require use of ingenuity and creativity;

  • Gather and review data concerning facility, company or government restrictions; construction scheduling; and construction feasibility;

  • Coordinate with Architectural & Engineering firms in the development of design criteria, construction drawings and details, technical specifications, and design analyses;

  • Review and estimate proposed design and construction costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs;

  • Inspect and direct observation of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established construction drawings, technical specifications, industry standard methods, and schedules;

  • Manage and administrate corporate capital, overhead and government funded infrastructure budgets and project schedules;

  • Review and approve invoices in a timely manner;

  • Coordinate and work with customers, Environmental Safety and Health Security, Maintenance and Fire department;

  • Review applicable OSHA criteria and building codes; develop and maintain a list of criteria to be incorporated in the facilities projects;

  • Provide technical support to the Facilities Engineering and Maintenance as a structural/civil systems expert.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Two (2) years of structural/civil design experience; or no experience required with a master's degree.

  • Ability to obtain United States Department of Defense security clearance.
