POSITION SUMMARY:

It is the primary responsibility of the Engineer to perform maintenance and repair both inside and outside of the building. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Ability to provide general maintenance throughout hotel.

  • Troubleshoot and repair lighting fixtures, systems, plumbing and electrical issues in assigned areas.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, motor controls, lighting and dimming systems.

  • Climb ladders to access elevated areas such as ceilings and catwalks.

  • Read and understand blueprints and wiring schematics to install and work on electrical components.

  • Receive and respond to maintenance calls in the hotel from guests and other departments.

  • Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments.

  • Communicate with guests in a professional manner regarding work requests.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment ranging from heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment, fan coils, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers and energy management systems (EMS)

  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.

  • Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.

  • Ensure equipment, fixtures and furniture are in good condition and repair items not up to hotel standards.

  • Maintain and repair minor electrical, minor plumbing and perform general preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.

SECTION 3: COMPETENCIES & WORKING CONDITIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two years' experience in engineering/facilities preferably in a hospitality environment.

  • Experience working with engineering workflow system

  • Experience working with hand tools.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to use the equipment associated with the position. This includes but is not limited to lifting up to 50 pounds of equipment.

  • Must be able to work in a casino environment with smoke, loud noises, and low lighting.

  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including holidays.

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments and all levels of management.

  • Ability to move around work area effectively and efficiently.
