Facilities Engineer

Job Description:

R&D Altanova is looking for a Facilities Engineer at our Race Street, Allentown facility. You will primarily be responsible for planning factory projects, managing contractors, maintaining equipment, and performing routine maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute various projects with limited supervision.

• Perform assigned day-to-day repairs/improvements, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance on production and support equipment.

• Become familiar with all production equipment and respond quickly to equipment issues.

• Respond quickly to emergency repair requests.

• Assist with production floor layout changes and coordinate associated services.

• Work with managers and supervisors to solve basic production support issues.

• Understand and follow 5S continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of basic computer systems including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

• Associate or bachelor's degree in related field or Technical School Diploma Specific trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC with 10 years of industry experience.

• Must have excellent verbal and writing skills.

• Ability to effectively interact with outside contractors.

• Must have some experience with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.

• Ability to read circuitry, wiring diagrams, schematics, and operations of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Must be highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work with good judgement.

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Must work well with others and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and demands.

• Physical capability of walking up and down stairs and ladders, working on your feet for hours at a time, and lift up to 50lbs.

• Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Previous facilities maintenance experience preferred.

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
