Job Description:

The Director of Facilities is responsible for managing, responding to and maintaining the operational and facilities needs of the Utah Shakespeare Festival.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with General Manager and other business department staff, manage the financial operations of the facilities department, appropriate use and recording of purchasing card transactions.

  • With direct-report employees, manage safety, operations, renovations, maintenance (including snow removal) and repairs of Festival-

managed buildings, coordinate these items and custodial needs with SUU-managed buildings.

  • Manage the long-term use of motor vehicles and USF's grounds and buildings, and coordinate these items with the relevant SUU departments. This includes installation, cleaning, and removal of grounds furniture, sunshades, outdoor banners, and signs.

  • Manage the building lock up schedule with SUU lock shop, in collaboration with Festival Stage Manager in May and June. Manage keys,

key distribution, and key setup/access for seasonal employees.

  • Collaborate with Festival staff to execute priorities for festival facilities. Serve as a point of contact for USF and SUU staff related to facilities ensure that USF in compliance with necessary safety regulations such as OSHA and Workers Compensation.

  • Create and submit street closure permit application for streets near Engelstad Shakespeare. Hire and supervise seasonal staff to implement the safe closure of the streets each evening during the Engelstad performance season.

  • Collaboration with production manager, coordinate the installation and removal of the holiday light display at the Beverley Center.

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/ G.E.D (Minimum)

  • Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

  • Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously in a rapidly expanding organization.

  • Ability to work in close collaboration with fellow colleagues and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must have auditory, visual, and physical skills to be able to perform tasks as outlined in this job description.

  • Two Years experience in a related field

  • Position requires evening and weekend work.

  • Working knowledge of general maintenance, painting, tile installation, HVAC, vehicle maintenance, etc.

  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles

  • Understanding of State and Federal OSHA regulations

  • OSHA 30 certification, which may be obtained while working
