Located in Washington, D.C., this Office Assistant position is currently available on a long term temporary-to-fulltime basis. Major responsibilities

  • File, copy and faxing for multiple departments

  • Oversee office facility

  • Route calls appropriately

  • Own the accurate submission of data


  • Accomplishes tasks independently

  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Office

  • Strong familiarity with customer service

  • Vendor relations and sourcing experience

  • Knowledge of navigating basic office equipment and protocols

  • Strong know-how of spreadsheets and word processing is desired

  • A willingness to take on both small administrative tasks and high visibility requests

  • Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

Work Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm. At times some overtime, maybe required during the weekday and weekend. Responsibilities: * Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to: * Office painting * Carpet removal and installation * Minor carpet repairs * Wall patch and paint * Install light bulbs * Install new locks/doorknobs * Limited furniture and shelving installation and repairs * Hanging pictures * Replace ceiling tiles * Drapery and blinds, installations and removals * General maintenance as assigned * Performs minor electrical maintenance including light bulb replacement, light fixture cleaning * Performs interior glass repairs including * Boarding up/replacing broken glass * Repairing cracked glass * Cleaning up broken glass * Caulking/sealing interior glass * Performs appliance cleaning, maintenance and repair diagnostics for: * Coffee machine * Cold Water dispenser * Hot Water dispenser * Ice machine * Refrigerator * Microwave * Washer/Dryer * Hand Drier * Performs diagnostics and minor repairs for plumbing clogs and odors. * Assists other operational staff members in repair and maintenance of building equipment. * Complies with policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. * Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as needed. * Performs and coordinates conference room and AV set-ups, general cleanup and deliveries as needed. * Performs regular property maintenance inspections. * Provides direction for some on-site vendors. * Assists with exterior snow removal when required – flexible hours needed during the winter season. * Maintains records for work completed in a neat and organized manner. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Education - High school diploma or equivalent. * Three to Five year previous job experience. * Documented coursework/certificates for entry level maintenance * Carpenter's license (or coursework leading to license) preferred * Personal characteristics - Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports. * For internal candidates, must constantly receive a "meets expectations" job performance review. * Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs. and using ladders up to 25'. * Has a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
