The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Facilities & Cleanroom/Janitorial Technician to join the team located the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Enforcing cleanroom requirements
Reading and interpreting drawings or blueprints
Experience with maintenance, trouble calls and repair of machine tools
Ability to demonstrates increased skill level in the repair and maintenance of plant and office facilities
Ability to uses hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment
Prior knowledge of custodial tasks and cleaning processes
Ability to apply knowledge of cleaning processes to clean, shampoo, scrub, polish and/or wax specialized flooring such as carpet, marble, terrazzo, stone, and tile
Ensure equipment is maintained in proper working condition.
Anticipate egress/ingress safety concerns and places floor mats as necessary at entrances to ensure tenant safety
Ability to use proper safety techniques and storage methods
Ability to plan and arrange team schedules in support of daily cleaning activities and revises schedule if warranted
Obtain and provide information to lessen customer business disruption during custodial activities
Maintains awareness of supply levels and initiates reorder when supply goes below required levels
Track orders, maintains documentation and ensures supply delivery to required areas
Provides guidance on cleaning techniques to less experienced custodians and ensures additional training is provided as needed
Any additional duties and responsibilities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location (Kennedy Space Center in Florida).
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Ability to lift 35 to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
Ability to climb ladders at heights up to 15 feet and stairs on a regular basis
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights as needed
Ability to work in a spacecraft shop floor environment, around work-stand platforms, while dressed in clean room garments for extended periods of time
2+ years of experience working with powered hand tools or equipment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in 100k and 10k cleanroom standards
Prior experience in janitorial/custodial services
Experience in performing grounds maintenance
Experience operating a Forklift
Ability to work within a team
Time management, communication, and organizational skills
Prior experience/knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations for industrial operations
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
Relocation:

Summary pay range: $48,450 - $65,550
