Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:
Position Summary:
The Facility Associate is responsible for managing routine warehouse operations and performing routine maintenance and repairs around the building and within the laboratory. This dynamic position supports lab operations across multiple departments to include escorting/assisting vendors & professional trades to troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supports essential central services, such as security, D.I. water systems, pest control, biohazard waste, refuse disposal, dry ice and liquid nitrogen deliveries.
Receives departmental deliveries at warehouse dock
Responsible for recording warehouse and office supply inventory
Receives, stocks, rotates, and enters all packing lists into the Procurement System
Performs daily, weekly, & monthly equipment checks on safety and lab equipment
Maintains upkeep of the buildings/grounds and performs minor repairs
Monitors, maintains, and investigates temperature units in all departments
Interacts & Escorts vendors: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and housekeeping
Completes documentation of facility procedures in accordance with organizational SOPs in support of accreditation standards
Handles biohazardous and chemical waste as needed
Ships and receives packages including patient samples to lab clients and affiliate businesses
Assists with office setup, casework installation/removal, and furniture arrangement as needed
Represents the business in a professional, positive, productive, and calm demeanor
Education and Experience:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with basic concepts of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Proficiency in English for effective communication
Ability to interact in a professional, cordial manner with various
General knowledge of facility support systems and infrastructure
Display good attention to detail and demonstrate a sense of urgency
Physical Requirements :
Requires physical effort (life/carry up to 80 lbs); pulling and pushing of objects, occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; must be able to hear, see, and respond adequately; use of hands and fingers; frequent prolonged standing.
May be required to work under extremely stressful conditions with time constraints and crisis situations.
May work on ladders and outdoors.
Work Conditions:
Works in a temperature controlled environment with possible exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
May be required to operate fire and safety equipment or follow other safety procedures in emergency situations.
