The schedule for this role is 6pm-6am, working 7 days on and 7 days off.

The Facilities Assistant Shift Manager maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of facilities. They should operate the property in such a manner that the safety of both the guests and team members are ensured at all times.

  • Responsible for providing guidance and daily supervision to staff in the facilities department.

  • Supports and administers operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.

  • Handle crisis situations as they arise to maintain safety standards and minimize the effect on casino operations. Observe building codes, rules, and regulations.

  • Supervise Operations Workers and EVS Attendants to ensure that assignments are completed, safe work practices are maintained, and all rules and regulations are followed.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, attractive environment for casino patrons. Responsible for the cleanliness, presentation, and deep cleaning of all areas including front and back of the house and perimeters of the property. Assist and oversee Operation and EVS personnel to ensure that the appearance of the facility is properly maintained.

  • Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.

  • Responsible for supporting compliance to departmental budgets.

  • Assists with all maintenance and construction projects and suggests best practice for using in-house resources or outside vendors

  • Inspects projects after completion for satisfactory results.

  • Ensure all statutory requirements are maintained and constantly reviewed for compliance.

  • Assists with grounds crew and maintenance of property grounds as needed.

  • Responds to all emergencies per established procedures and assists team members/resources in the event of an emergency.

  • Assist with manning of EOS - Emergency Operation Station as needed. Basic knowledge of monitoring equipment, e.g. Prism system, Strain Gage system and Fire Alarm panel.

  • Assist with staff training and document per OSHA standards: All Vertical Lift Training including Forklifts and other machinery. Review and document annually.

  • Ensure all safety inspections are documented and completed before expiration and all deficiencies are addressed immediately to meet compliance.

  • Ensure weekly Fire Watch sheets are completed and reviewed. Ensure all safety equipment is in good working order.

  • Oversee general maintenance on all facility equipment.

  • Oversee general maintenance on facility property.

  • Daily inspection rounds of Safety Equipment.

  • Respond to and train Operations Workers for all emergencies, e.g., fire, emergency evacuation, search, man overboard. Donning of fire gear and launching of rescue boats.

  • Adheres to preventive maintenance schedules for facility.

  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.

  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

  • Provide positive communication and use ACES Training skills with every guest and co-worker.

  • Perform duties in a safe manner; report any potential safety hazards to management staff.

  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position's job description, where, in the Company's judgment, those duties are necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or guest service.

  • Responsible for assisting with staff development and training programs.

  • Assist with rewards and recognition programs to maximize employee engagement.

  • Evaluate shift team members within department and deliver constructive feedback to employees in regard to performance.

  • Assists with recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and assisting with scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs.

  • Manage and determine shift work procedures and expedites shift workflow.

  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching and counseling).

  • Assist with the Creation of Schedules to meet customer expectations.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.

  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

  • Ability to oversee, conduct, document, and train staff with regards to emergency response and procedures including safe operations of machinery and equipment

  • Preferred experience in teaching, training, and/or instructing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree (A.A.) in construction, maintenance, or related field; one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Environmental Services, Carpet cleaning and repair, General Carpentry, Painting, Dry wall, Wallpaper, light engineering principals, along with knowledge of generators, fire pumps, and electrical switchgears; Fire Fighting and emergency stations as they pertain to a vessel; trade license preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or organizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Team Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
