SUNY Orange is currently accepting applications for the Facilities Assistant Custodial & Grounds Manager. This is a professional position under the direction of the Facilities Custodial & Grounds Manager.

The Facilities Assistant Custodial & Grounds Manager is responsible for the evening supervision on both campuses (Middletown and Newburgh) of the custodial staff, including insuring the cleanliness of classrooms, offices and other campus facilities (approx. 600,000 square feet). The Facilities Assistant Custodial & Grounds Manager will primarily work from 3 pm until 11 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional day and weekend work.

The individual in this role will also be required to work during inclement weather to make sure that the campus is appropriately prepared for the arrival of staff and students.

Requirements:

Education Required: Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of required experience OR an Associate's with three (3) years required experience OR five (5) years of required experience.

Experience Required: Experience supervising large (10+) cleaning crews; A working knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals; One (1) year supervisory experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.

  • Bilingual skills.

Salary: $47,055-$62,348 per annum commensurate with experience. This is a 12 month, Staff and Chair, Grade 40 position.
