Job Summary
This Facilities Assistant and Greenhouse Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing daily facility operations, safety and security, growth facility systems, maintenance tasks, and provide support for research activities, ensuring smooth operations within 5 buildings, totaling over 550,000 sq/ft. You will work under extremely limited supervision while requiring excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills to coordinate with vendors, contractors, Environmental Health and Safety, and Physical Facilities staff to meet project deadlines, respond to emergency maintenance issues, and solve issues which may be unclear and require previous experience to analyze and solve.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist with facilities operations including facilitate repairs/renovations
Support project management by inspecting facilities to ensure maintenance standards are met and addressing any workplace hazards found during inspection
Provide emergency support as necessary
Serves as liaison between vendors, contractors, Environmental Health and Safety, and Physical Facilities staff
Implement and maintain policies and procedures regarding facility usage and operations; may make minor changes or enhancements to procedures to improve effectiveness
Repair, maintenance and support of greenhouse controls and equipment, including pumps, lights, irrigation systems and cooling pads.
Regularly inspect greenhouse to ensure maintenance standards and address hazards found during inspections
Implement and maintain policies and procedures regarding facility usage and operations; may make minor changes or enhancements to procedures to improve effectiveness
May apply insecticides as necessary
What We're Looking For:
HS diploma / GED
4 years of experience with facilities management, project management, building safety, and greenhouse operations
Ability to obtain a 3A pesticide applicators license required (training provided)
Mechanical, electrical, communication, organization, time management, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills
Computer software skills, such as: Outlook, Excel, Ariba and SAP
Technical skills, such as: troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
