Position Information

Classification Title Student Assistant FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE .50 Minimum Qualifications Position Summary

• Landscaping of pastures with use of both riding and push lawn mowers, tractors, weed eaters, etc…

• Repair and construction associated with farm property including building of cattle and horse fencing and handling facilities.

• Assist in the movement and installation of equipment for various departments of the College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Assist with the set up associated with various events held by the college and its affiliates.

• Be willing to work some of the home football games to assist CVM staff with monitoring traffic in and out of the CVM campus.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

• Work associated with an agricultural operation: livestock, crop production, etc…

• Experience operating farm equipment or other heavy machinery.

• Experience with landscaping or lawn management.

• Experience in any of the associated trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc…

• Experience with the operation of power tools.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

• Lift approximately 50 pounds.

• Work in adverse weather conditions (heat and cold).

• Perform tasks unsupervised and as instructed.

• Good communication and collaborative skills.
