The CRC Facilities Engineer Team is seeking to fill a Process Engineer position to support our California assets based out of our Tupman, CA location.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the life cycle of projects, including scope and design development, cost estimating, AFE preparation and submittals, equipment specification and design, bid package and contract preparation, material and equipment procurement, construction and execution over site, cost and schedule control and reporting

  • Prepares conceptual process designs, computer simulations, equipment designs, technical proposals, process descriptions, and prepares operating and start-up instructions

  • Lead MOC efforts for their projects, participates in HAZOP studies, and leads plant start-ups

  • Support Marketing Managers, Business Development, and Operations with: concept development, life of field planning, and troubleshooting exercises

  • Collects/screens physical property, vapor/liquid equilibrium and plant operating data required to complete process designs

  • Develop conceptual process designs including, PFDs and Heat & Mass Balance

  • Conduct computer simulations

  • Interpret results of pilot test studies and/or operating data

  • Conduct process design, of key equipment: columns, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps etc.

  • Prepare equipment/process data/specification sheets

  • Prepare Instrument list with key process data

  • Design/specify pressure relief devices/systems

  • Prepare process descriptions, functional design specifications, alarm and interlock matrixes, and operating instructions

  • Review/check output of colleagues' process engineering work

  • Respond to questions and inquiries regarding technical problems and issues that arise -provide related technical support or assistance

  • Oversee contract personnel in the construction and/or general maintenance and repair of gas plant facilities

  • Works with company SME's to maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable DOT, OSHA, EPA, other environmental/safety regulations and company processes and procedures

  • This position will require business travel, and in rare occasions could include extended stays (1-2 months)

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) year's similar experience, in a related field of Process Engineering (mass transfer/distillation)

  • Knowledge of natural gas plant processes, including equilibrium staged separations; heat exchange; pumping, compression and expansion equipment; gas/liquid separation equipment; acid gas treating systems; fluid flow including multi-phase flow behavior, piping design, piping codes, standards, and material specifications; and process control basics

  • Strong understanding of acid gas gathering, treatment and miscible gas distribution system design

  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and to design innovative separation processes and equipment

  • Analytical capability as required in collecting, reviewing, assessing and interpreting customer's data and process requirements - developing responsive design specifications and parameters

  • Communication and interpersonal skills, as required in working effectively with internal and external customers to interpret their requirements, and resolve problems and issues that arise

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including word-processing, database, spreadsheet, electronic simulation software applications such as Hysys, PROII, or Hysys, Hydraulic Modelling Software such as Pipephase, PipeSim, or GAP, drawing software such as Autocad

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability

  • Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and in the time required

  • Demonstrated ability to work within multidiscipline team environment

  • Must have a valid driver's license & a clean DMV record

The CRC Facilities Engineering Team is seeking to fill a Facilities Engineer Supervisor position to support our California operations based out of our Tupman, CA location. Responsibilities Lead functions include, but are not limited to: * Coordinate and set direction for Facilities operations, engineering, and project management team - for their areas of responsibility * Help set the direction for continually improving the quality of and lowering the cost of operations and capital project fulfillment * Track performance indicators to ensure projects are on track * Keep the Facilities Engineering & Construction Manager, as well as other stake holders, advised of project progress, performance and manpower utilization with attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions * Develop efficient workflows that ensure all stake holders are engaged, aligned and executing required tasks * Cooperate with other Facilities team leads, as well as other departments, in the company that are participating on the project * Develop and implement, lean project principals as they concern project deliverables and specifications; while complying with regulations, applicable codes, and standards * Assist with the establishment and implementation of the project's manpower needs and coordinate technical activities among disciplines * Request the employment of expert consultants, when deemed necessary * Encourage and assist in the technical and managerial development of subordinate(s) * Requires business travel that, on rare occasions, could include extended stays of 1-2 months Engineering Team's functions include: * Managing surface infrastructure projects, from conception through implementation, including: pipelines, compressor stations, pumping stations, and oil/water/gas separation, conditioning, and processing facilities * Analyzing, troubleshooting, and refurbishing existing surface infrastructure elements for optimum utilization * Project/Program development, planning and management for safe execution of projects with predictable cost, schedule and performance * Preparing cost/schedule reports and forecasts for all active projects on a bi-weekly basis * Working with Supply Chain and Construction Teams to develop subcontract and work package descriptions, that are consistent with contracting plan developed for the project * Ensuring regulatory compliance * Analyzing and optimizing operations and equipment deployment Required qualifications * Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering * Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years similar experience, in a related field of Process Engineering (mass transfer/distillation) * Possess knowledge of water treatment technologies as they relate to produced water treatment, steam generation and potential treatment for reuse * Knowledge of heavy oil facility design, steam generation, equilibrium staged separations; heat exchange; pumping and compression flow behavior, piping and pipeline design, piping codes, standards and material specifications and process control basics * Ability to interpret customer requirements and to design innovative separation processes and equipment * Analytical capability as required in collecting, reviewing, assessing and interpreting customer's data and process requirements and developing responsive design specifications and parameters * Communication and interpersonal skills, as required in working effectively with internal and external customers to interpret their requirements, and resolve problems and issues that arise * Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including word-processing, database, spreadsheet, electronic simulation software applications such as Hysys, PROII, or Hysys, Hydraulic Modelling Software such as Pipephase, PipeSim, or GAP, drawing software such as Autocad * Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability * Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and in the time required * Demonstrated ability to work within multidiscipline team environment * Must have a valid driver's license & a clean DMV record Preferred qualifications * Professional Engineering License * Working knowledge of corrosion engineering principles * Ability to represent the company's interests with vendors and contract technical staff. * Understanding current California regulatory requirements as they relate to Oil and Gas projects CRC is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran California Resources Corporation Tupman CA
