Description
The Welder's primary objectives are ensuring that all required material is prepared and welded according to daily production or custom fabrication and the quality and efficiency of work is consistent with company specifications. The Welder ensures goals and deadlines are met by fabricating products to meet company, state, and OSHA safety standards. The Fabrication Welder demonstrates Onsite Safety's mission, vision and core values at every level of work performance.
Requirements
Essential Job Functions
Complete welding production activities as assigned, including: drilling, punching, cutting, grinding, welding and cleaning materials.
Achieve quality control specifications as outlined in the Daily Production Schedule Sheet and technical drawings.
Ability to read blueprints
Welding or joining metal and other materials into a wide range of structures.
Ensure all supply levels are adequate for job completion.
Knowledge of engineering and technology
Maintain all machines and equipment in working order with scheduled cleaning and maintenance.
Keep current and accurate maintenance logs for all machines, supplies, and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures according to all company safety policies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hazard awareness standards.
Notify the supervisor of any sub-standard quality equipment or products.
Inspect and complete all general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Properly dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with federal and state laws.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Time Requirements
The Welder must be able to:
Work in all seasons and weather conditions, including a non-climate controlled warehouse
Lift, carry and unload a minimum of 55 lbs. of equipment
Operate high impact power tools
Be flexible with scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends
Any other duties assigned
Job-related and OSHA-10 training will be provided
Minimum Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalent.
Must be competent in the safe and proper use of MIG & TIG welders as well as other common hand and power tools.
Must have ability to communicate and multi-task in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment.
Welding/fabrication experience in a warehouse/production facility is preferred.
