The primary duties of this position involve the assembly of water filtration and purification equipment, including associated chemical dosing pump systems, when applicable. Pipefitting and basic millwright skills are required to perform these duties, as is the ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical drawings and common drawing annotations and dimensional representations, i.e., to build equipment to engineered design specifications. The proven ability to work safely in an industrial environment and effectively apply safe work practices based on industry best practices and Company policies are additional key requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with plastic (PVC, CPVC, PVDF), carbon and stainless steel piping and sheet goods to assemble interconnecting piping between vessels, pumps, and valves. As required, fabricate and install piping and electrical panel supports, shims, ect.

  • Mount component parts and assemblies such as pumps, filters and electrical panels

  • Conducts pressure and hydro testing of assembles piping and/or vessels as well as completed systems when applicable

  • Use of overhead crane and safe rigging and maneuvering of loads in support of the various equipment assembly and preparation for shipment activities

  • Safe use of propane-fueled and electric forklift trucks to move and lift materials and equipment

  • Safe set up and operate of machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, pipe threaders, punches, sanders, grinders and various types of cutoff saws in support of assembly activities

  • Work Effectively on both an individual basis as well as when assigned as a member of the team

  • Work safety and follow all company safety policies and requirements

Key Competencies:

  • Pipefitting skills: Cut to dimension, thread and properly assemble plastic, steel and stainless steel piping

  • Rigging skills: Lift and load equipment and component parts/sub-assemblies weight up to 10 tons (gross weight

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret single-line, double-line and three dimensional (3D) computer aided drafting (CAD) generated drawings to build equipment to prescribed specifications

  • Ability to safely drive forklifts rated at up to 15,000 lb capacity

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize IBM-compatible computer hardware and learn time management application software

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year prior experience in equipment assembly-related assignment

  • Minimum of one year of experience in pipefitting assignment

  • At least one year of safe forklift operational experience

  • Experience safely rigging and loading/unloading systems or component parts

  • Physical ability to lift parts and sub-assemblies and bagged products weighing up to 50 lbs each

  • High school diploma, GED or diploma from a nationally-recognized trade school

  • Fluency in English language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior training in pipefitting and millwright skills

  • Ability to employ MS-Windows and related PC Hardware
