The primary purpose of the F117 Field Service Representative is to provide support for execution of contract FA8124-18-D-001 via onsite technical guidance and assistance to the assigned F117 engines and C-17 aircraft operated by the Royal Australian Air Force in Amberley, Australia. This position requires the individual to work closely with the Air Force and Boeing personnel to coordinate timely assistance and resolutions to engine and engine and airframe interface technical issues that arise during the course of daily operations. Individual must utilize organizational and communication skills in relating directly with the C-17/F117 GISP program, Boeing on-site reps and base personnel.
As applicable to the contract under execution, onsite F117 Field Service Representative functions shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following key elements:
Define trend parameters for distress modes, analyze existing data, and establish trending plans to identify and obtain additional data for trend monitoring.
At access opportunity, review engine hardware for unique wear or distress modes.
Review engine performance and diagnostic trends in both operational and/or test cell environments.
Review EEC and Aircraft Propulsion Data Management Computer (APDMC) Event Code and Transient Data to evaluate expected engine operation as defined by transient simulation and production data.
Provide input for on-site performance analysis to identify performance shifts and enhance troubleshooting and flight-line maintenance.
Obtain feedback on engine performance from the Aircraft Maintenance Office, flight-line and pilots. Provide information on product performance and feedback using E-mail.
Conduct on-the-job training for system troubleshooting and flight-line assistance.
Evaluate maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and advise maintenance and technical personnel in the use of special tools, equipment, safety precautions, installation methods, and provide other assistance to resolve maintenance problems and improve maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
Provide support to resolve technical and logistical issues involving F117 engine operation for installed and uninstalled maintenance activities.
Utilize P&W tools such as MERLIN, IETMS, and other P&W System Tools.
Use ACE & EH&S tools/principles in performance of duties, and support local P&W Site in executing and achieving ACE & EH&S objectives.
Individual may be required to work flexible shifts as needed to support customer schedules. Travel may be required to support meetings and reviews with internal and/or external customers. There is the possibility of short term assignments with other C-17 units for purposes of providing P&W FSR to coverage in support of the C-17 Program.
Support successful maturation and improvements of the F117 support systems where applicable such as ADEM, AEFR, IMIS, and TOD (IETMs or TO Mart).
The P&W Field Service Representative will use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct thorough investigations where appropriate to determine root causes and coordinate solutions between P&W Customer Support Engineering, Logistics Program Management, the Air Force, and Boeing.
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree required / master's degree preferred
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Candidate will have 7 plus years related experience with at least five (5+) years of experience with the F117 engine. Previous field representative experience, especially with the F117, is strongly preferred. Previous experience with the US Air Force or Royal Australian Air Force preferred.
Individual must utilize organizational, teaming, interpersonal and communication skills in relating directly with the C-17/F117 GISP program, Boeing on-site reps and base personnel.
Individual must have demonstrated skills in building strong customer relationships.
Individual must be able to prioritize tasks and plans effectively.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel)
Active secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Familiarity with AFI 21-101, Technical Orders, Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS), Comprehensive Engine Management & Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (CEMS/ IMDS), and G081 are all a plus.
