Description:This position is permanently assigned at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska working aircraft modifications, upgrades and overhauls. Possible domestics and international travel.
Services, repairs, and overhauls F-22 aircraft electrical & avionics systems to ensure airworthiness. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft electrical/avionics system and components.
Incorporate engineering changes. Replaces and repairs worn or damaged components. Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories. Performs operational checks, pre & post modification/upgrade/overhaul testing, troubleshoots and repairs electrical and avionics systems on aircraft as required.
Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of electrical/avionics circuits and components. Uses complex test instruments and computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices, may provide technical guidance.
Selected candidate will have experience with understanding technical requirements on fighter type aircraft. Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes. Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.
Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
Fighter aircraft Avionics/Electrical experience
Must have been previously awarded a 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate
Experience with Maintenance Information Systems such as Electronic Maintenance Instructions, Aircraft Forms
Documentation, and Supply Chain Management
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
F-22, F-35, F-16, F-18, F-15 avionics/electrical experience
Experienced in Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs
Modifications and Maintenance
Low Observable coatings experience/understanding
Nose to Tail Maintenance Concept
