PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Run production, monitor and maintain rate and quality throughout the production run.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up and run production extrusion orders.

Set up and operate related secondary equipment e.g. cut-to-length equipment, post cure oven

Setup and run material mill to mix and freshen compounds as required by Supervisor.

Follow the established production process using saved process parameters and the standard listed on the traveler.

Start job and obtain 1st piece approval for production run.

Run production; monitor and maintain rate and quality throughout the run.

Understand and use work orders, blueprints, engineering specifications, SOPs as required to perform setups and correct problems.

Understand and operate all equipment controls and operator interfaces.

Maintain accurate written records and use the IQMS system as required for documentation.

Communicate well with Supervisor, Other Extrusion Technician, & Quality

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

Strong Communication skills written and verbal in English.

High degree of organization and self-motivation.

Ability to work in a team environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Language Skills

Ability to read and write in English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out assignments or request assistance when required.

Computer Skills

Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to clock in and clock out of production jobs.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.

The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.

The employee must be able to walk steps between the floors in the building regularly.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
