The Extrusion Operator performs a variety of operations to assist quality of each raw material within order/batch that is made. Production under supervision of Production Supervisor, and or shift Lead man.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of equipment.

Clean and prepare machine for next color, multiple times per shift

Set- Up order per daily schedule and read BOM

Understand and read daily schedule and operate Mezzanine

Complete daily 5S requirements

Understand and read settings for machinery being operated.

Able to understand work instructions in work area

Log shop order though the computer system for tracking

Understanding of how to handle correction to orders

Lean how to prepare packaging for next color

Understand and learn how to operate Electrical Hand Truck

Occupational and process safety, environmental protection

Comply with all safety related rules and policies

Actively contribute towards identifying risks and suggest actions to reduce risks

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates in 5S improvements

Participate in Performance Dialogue and other teamwork activities

Contributes to other process improvement projects as needed

Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

Cross Train in other departments as needed

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine correspondence

The Lead Operator provides direction and support for the employees assigned to their respective shift and team toward the goal of maximizing safety, environmental responsibility, quality and productivity. Responsibilities * Assists in maximizing the safety, environmental, and efficient performance of all team members; actively promotes continuous improvement activities; qualified on all jobs. * Analyzes process and quality data and takes appropriate action(s), if necessary, with the collaboration and/or direction of the Shift Leader. Communicates all actions taken to on-coming shift and Shift Leader. * Leads the team through performance management dialogs on each shift; maintains performance management boards with current and accurate data. * Effectively communicates with employees on their shift of immediate responsibility, on-coming and off-going shifts. * Ensuring Process Orders (POs) are maintained in an accurate and timely manner including issues, receipts, scrap and rework generation, productivity. Provide explanation of any variance(s) at conclusion of each shift. * Ensures KPI's are met – including (but not limited to) ESHA, Quality, Productivity and all project activities. * Responsible for ensuring all 5S initiatives are met or exceeded each shift. * Develops Job Safety Analyses (JSAs); report incidents, ensure all required ESHA forms are accurate, complete and appropriately addressed (as needed). * Troubleshoot process equipment; Input detailed and accurate maintenance work notifications when needed. * Develop process training and effectively train other team members. Requirements * High School Diploma or GED (some college is a plus) * Skill in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. * Excellent attendance and performance record. * Excellent safety record with a demonstrated ability to approach safety issues proactively. * Demonstrated team leadership. * Excellent mechanical and spatial aptitude. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
