BASIS DC is seeking an External Relations and Reporting Manager whose primary responsibilities will be developing and strengthening relationships with the community, regulatory agencies, and education policy stakeholders in the District. In addition, this position will be responsible for the administration of BASIS DCs data integrity and reporting in various systems to foster and support data-driven educational decision-making to meet the needs of our educational community in the District.

Primary Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strengthen relationships with community & education policy stakeholders;

  • Bolster and maintain the organizations understanding of and involvement in the community and political climate in the District of Columbia

  • Administer reporting systems, including updating historical records and creating current reports as necessary, for BASIS DC for compliance reporting in collaboration with the BASIS.ed Director of Compliance;

  • Oversee state (OSSE) and authorizer (PCSB) relationships;

  • Facilitate local data requests;

  • Attend relevant OSSE and PCSB events, workshops, trainings, and board meetings and provide timely reports to the Head of School on external meetings and events;

  • Identify and implement meaningful opportunities and experiences for BASIS DC students, staff, and community members that further the mission and goals of BASIS DC;

  • Provide consistent and effective support to school leadership including performing other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and valid fingerprint clearance

  • Advanced experience with PowerSchool, oracle database structure, and Excel

  • Advanced experience with javascript, Salesforce, SLED, and quickbase is a plus!

  • Education experience in a school setting is a plus!

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently with diverse constituents while maintaining high professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications:A Masters degree in education, data management/analysis, or related field. Experience in program coordination, public education administration, or data management is preferred. Knowledge of and/or experience with the federal, state, local, political, and regulatory environments for public charter schools. Ability to provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-, or process-related topics. Ability to analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes. Critically, a successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, and in coordination with the donor management teams, the manager will streamline RRI’s donor engagement processes and ensure consistency across logframes and commitments for RRI’s major institutional donors. The ideal applicant is a skilled project manager with excellent writing and collaboration skills and a deep understanding of monitoring and evaluation functions. Design and implement an integrated donor relations and reporting system</p><ul> <li>Design an integrated system and maintain a reporting calendar to manage donor reporting, ensuring alignment between organizational priorities and donor commitments and minimizing duplication of efforts </li> <li>Maintain a centralized logframe with assigned reporting responsibilities across the donor management teams to streamline the organization’s donor engagement processes and assist in monitoring and evaluation </li> <li>Manage the compiling, writing, and editing of donor reports, procuring necessary input from across the organization and donor leads, while ensuring that overarching donor priorities and key RRI messaging are integrated into report</li> <li>Oversee production of RRI’s Annual Narrative Report and contribute to drafting</li> <li>Ensure that donor commitments are integrated into RRI’s annual planning process and assist finance in determining proper allocation of donor funds to programmatic objectives </li> <li>Support program staff to ensure that program expenses align with budget restrictions, donor regulations, and grant specifications</li> <li>Liaise with finance to ensure alignment between financial and narrative reporting</li> <li>Identify potential risks to the institution or coalition related to donor relations, convey those to Management, and assist in developing solutions</li> </ul><p>2. Respond to donor requests and proactively steward RRI’s major institutional donors</p><ul> <li>Develop a deep understanding of existing donors’ priorities and manage the relationship in coordination with program officers </li> <li>Cultivate the Donor Support Group and organize annual meetings, ensuring timely responsiveness to their concerns and advice, all toward informed, strong, and continued support for RRI</li> <li>Respond to donor needs for presentation materials, coordinate meetings with appropriate staff, and otherwise ensure that donor requests are met</li> <li>Proactively inform donors about RRI successes, challenges, and key learnings in order to improve RRI’s positioning, increase opportunities for further funding, and encourage donors to prioritize RRI values across their portfolios</li> <li>Represent RRI at donor-convened meetings and present on RRI’s accomplishments as needed</li> <li>Liaise with the strategic communications team, regional teams, and strategic analysis teams to capture RRI successes and ensure these are communicated to donors through both reporting and other avenues </li> <li>Oversee any audits or evaluations requested by existing donors</li> </ul><p>3.
