Edina Public Schools has an Extended School Year (ESY) Secondary Special Education ASD teaching position available at Edina High School beginning June through August 2020.
The site based teachers will support students with disabilities in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Teacher will focus on supporting students in small groups with maintenance with their functional skills and goal and objective progress monitoring.
Edina Secondary Site-Based programming is for students with moderate/significant needs who spend the majority of their day in a separate classroom entering grades 6-12 who are eligible for ESY and whose IEP goals might include: Basic self-help; muscular control; physical mobility; impulse control; personal hygiene; development of stable relationships with peers and adults; basic communication; functional academic competency. Related services are provided on an individual basis depending on eligibility through regression/recoupment, self-sufficiency, or unique need.
Secondary Location: Edina High School (ASD)
Current MN Special Education licensure
One year, plus special education teaching experience
Collaborative, team player, good communication skills, reliable
