INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE - INTENSIVE BEHAVIOR: Under general supervision, assists teacher(s) in a variety of caretaking, instructional, and classroom duties involving autistic, severely handicapped students; administers Intensive Behavior Intervention (IBI) to students as needed; and performs related work as required.

INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE - SEVERELY HANDICAPPED: Under general supervision, assists a teacher or teachers in a variety of care taking, instructional, and classroom duties involving severely handicapped students; and performs related work as required.

INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE - SPECIAL EDUCATION:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of instructional and routine clerical duties designed to free the instructor from routine work related to the program; and performs related work as required. Positions in this class are established principally to relieve teachers of certain instructional tasks and routine details. Incumbents perform their tasks with initiative and independent judgment within a limited number of standardized procedures.

INSTRUCTIONAL HEALTH AIDE - SEVERELY HANDICAPPED: Under general supervision of a teacher and/or school nurse, assists in a variety of caretaking and instructional duties in special education programs for severely and/or physically handicapped students; assists in meeting special needs which may include tutoring, toileting, positioning, and monitoring health conditions of students; relieves teachers of routine clerical duties; and performs other duties as required. INTERPRETER/TUTOR CERTIFIED (HEARING-IMPAIRED PROGRAM): Under general supervision, assists high school instructors and staff by interpreting in one or more sign languages for the hearing impaired; consults with instructors, staff, parents, and students; operates audio visual and special audio equipment; tutors students in high school subjects; and performs related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

All Instructional Aide - Severely Handicapped, Intensive Behavior, and Health Aide positions are required to have an American Red Cross Standard CPR certificate and First Aid certificate. Please attach a copy to your application.

If you fail to attach copies or have certificates that will expire during June or July, you will not be given an assignment until you renew your certificates. You must be able to complete the entire assignment from June 20, 2024 to July 19, 2024 unless other arrangements can be made. No paid vacation days will be granted.

The recruitment is for permanent Classified employees who will be placed based on seniority, longevity and classification. All information will be verified. If you are a substitute or new applicant, you can apply and will be placed in a position based on need and experience.
