The position:

The Special Projects/Front End Receptionist in the Extended Campus Registration and Records (R&R) department is charged with providing credit and non-credit office support services to both internal and external customers engaged in OU educational activities. Specifically, by answering and routing phone calls, greeting and routing office visitors, managing office and the director's calendars, processing transcript requests, shopping for office supplies, special projects, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to handle exposure to frequent deadlines and busy periods; may be required to travel and work overtime before 8:00 am and after 5:00 pm and some weekends. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies; requires contact with university officials and the public.

Required Education: GED/High School Grad OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

  • 6-12 months clerical experience in higher education

Skills:

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Customer service

Certifications:

  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods; may be required to travel: ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies; requires contact with university officials and the public; ability to bend, lift, stoop and carry as well as engage in repetitive motion.

Departmental Preferences:

  • 1-3 years in Higher Education or related experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Supervision: No Supervisory Duties

The position: The Non-Credit Registration Clerk is charged with providing non-credit support services to both internal and external customers engaged in OU educational activities. Specifically, by accepting registration requests by phone, fax, email or surface mail. They also produce confirmation letters, name badges, sign-in rosters, certificates and other reports as requested. Must be able to handle exposure to frequent deadlines and busy periods; may be required to travel and work overtime before 8:00 am and after 5:00 pm and some weekends. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies; requires contact with university officials and the public. Required Education: GED/High School Grad OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND: * 6-12 months clerical experience.
