Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a newly opened (July, 2018) 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the new facility will also offer services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women's trauma unit.

Expressive Arts Therapists are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

  • Develop and implement expressive therapy treatment plans that are age appropriate, and consistent with overall treatment goals.

  • Facilitates patient groups that are well prepared and beneficial to clients.

  • Maintain the clinical and administrative documentation associated with performed services.

  • Consistently engages and interacts with our patients and their families by using the treatment principles of Trauma Responsive Care, as demonstrated by the following: 1. A basic recognition of the characteristic symptoms resulting from exposure to trauma, 2. Having an understanding of and sensitivity to the triggers of trauma and trauma re-enactment, 3. Incorporating relevant skill sets into daily interactions with patients and families, and 4. Participates in continuing education on Trauma Responsive Care and Recovery.

  • Effectively contribute to treatment planning of patients.

Qualifications

What Does LBHH Require for this Role?

  • Master's Degree in Art, Music, Dance Movement and/or Recreational Therapy. License preferred. Must be license eligible if not currently licensed.

  • Ability to work weekends

Food Service Workers prepare and serve meals as outlined on the menu for patients, employees, medical staff and visitors to deliver quality and delicious meals. Food Service Workers are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks: * Place food on serving line on time, providing sufficient eating utensils, trays, napkins, and paper cups. * Clean work area including trash removal and table washing after each meal. Clean dishes, floors, food-prep areas and equipment daily. * Serve meals in the cafeteria and assemble individual patient trays and galleys for delivery to the unit. * Accept and reconcile deliveries and put away stock. * Assist the cook in food preparation. * Consistently engages and interacts with our patients and their families by using the treatment principles of Trauma Responsive Care.
