Export Program Specialist
Primary Purpose:
As Export Program Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Univar Solutions foreign trade export compliance workflow. This position will also focus on supporting and auditing of Univar Solutions export activity.
This role includes;
Expertise of Export Controls and Compliance
Coordination with internal and external partners to gather and vet information
Analyzation & Optimization of compliance related processes
Training development and deployment
Audit activity to provide performance accountability of internal & external trade partners
Education/Experience/Training:
Bachelor's degree required, with preference for concentration in supply chain/logistics, international trade or economics
Min. 3+ years in global / international trade operations, including responsibility for import and/or export for North America locations
Prior experience with ITAR/EAR a plus
Certifications in; NCBFAA Certifications (CCS, CES, MES), IATA, among others, is a plus.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated indirect leadership skills
Strong analytical skills & organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong problem solving and time management skills
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English
Bilingual in Spanish, Korean or Mandarin and English
Ability to analyze data for optimization. Advanced MS Excel Skills
Ability to develop processes and deliver process training
Experienced in use of computer, MS office applications & SAP or equivalent ERP system, e-learning development a plus
Role is primarily office based, though requires the ability to move between departments.
Role will require participation in staggered dayside shifts to accommodate business operations
Univar Solutions products & operations are industrial in nature. This position is unlikely but may require individual to work in and around industrial operations work sites. Warehouse & Distribution locations are usually enclosed, though are not temperature controlled.
All employees & visitors, when in operational venues, wear company issues hard hat, high visibility vest, eye protection and other PPE identified to support specific operations.
Ability to travel (up to 15%) outside of local office operations via driving or air travel
