SUMMARY

Hulu is seeking an Experimentation Manager to join our Subscriber Growth Marketing team, reporting to the Manager of Experimentation. This role will partner with marketers and product managers to identify innovative opportunities that drive acquisition and engagement across our platforms. This person will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, UX Design, Analytics, and Engineering to rapidly launch, analyze, and iterate upon experiments. The ideal candidate is either a growth marketer with a strong product sense or a product manager with a bent for optimization. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the lifecycle of an experiment, which involves building, launching, analyzing, and iterating upon A/B tests to optimize subscriber growth experiences and maximize conversions across various channels and platforms

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Finance, and Analytics to estimate the business impact of experiments, evaluate technical feasibility, and prioritize an experimentation roadmap

  • Generate insights and recommendations based on test results to improve upon existing product experiences and help define requirements for new features, increasing Hulu's value to customers

  • Identify strategic opportunities for testing to advance Hulu's business goals and develop a hypothesis library by leveraging quantitative and qualitative data, including survey results and customer research

  • Collaborate with the UX design team to 1) ideate on innovative solutions that address both user and business problems and 2) create powerful customer experiences

  • Work closely with the team lead to evangelize the experimentation program and cultivate a data-first culture by educating and empowering product and marketing teams to design high-quality experiments

  • Partner with platform managers and developers to help define requirements for Hulu's experimentation platform and enable testing in different areas of the business

WHAT TO BRING

  • 3+ years of technical product management or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of collaborative work with marketing teams on acquisition and reacquisition related efforts

  • Proven experience with conversion rate optimization, setting up and delivering A/B tests

  • Hands-on experience in using Optimizely, Adobe Test and Target, Monetate, SiteSpect or other digital testing tools

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a diverse set of technical and non-technical partners

  • Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills

Independently design, plan, execute, and analyze information from various studies involving the use of cancer cell lines and human tissues as models to determine the role of various genes in the oncogenic process. Position is demanding both highly developed technical skills and analytic abilities. Will require project management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage lower level SRAs, lab assistants and undergraduate students. The responsibilities of the position will also entail developing, optimizing, and performing various assays (i.e., cell biology molecular biology, protein biochemistry, small animal studies and preclinical target and drug validation studies). Individual is responsible for training newly appointed post-doctoral scholars, medical fellows and other staff research associates in various assays with material obtained from human cell lines and specimens. Maintain these resources and maintain notebooks which are in compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP). In addition, contribute original ideas to improve the reproducibility or efficiency of various experimental procedures. Implement new protocols and techniques required for the investigation of new and continuing research projects and serve as a co-author on publications. Responsible for the maintenance, in culture as well as stock maintenance of a panel of cancer cell lines. Scheduling lab or equipment use time for staff, purchasing lab supplies, or preparing ordering lists. Maintenance usually involves inspection, cleaning, calibration, testing and repair of lab equipment; and organization and cleaning of the lab, including preparation and storage rooms. If necessary, contact vendors to provide maintenance services. Additionally, incumbent will check supply levels and orders, stores and distributes new supplies. Handle security documents and must ensure that all information and data collected in the lab is kept safe. Qualifications Working knowledge and experience in general molecular biology techniques. Knowledge of tissue culture and sterile techniques. Demonstrated knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology. Graduate training advantageous. Ability to keep an organized, descriptive and accurate lab notebook. Proficient in computer software. Work with the following programs. Word processing, data tabulation and graphing. Knowledge of public genome, expression databases and data mining techniques a plus. Ability to work as part of a team, calibrating with colleagues, faculty and staff. Skill in reading methods from scientific literature and adapting, optimizing laboratory protocols. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to carry out RT-PCR, Northern blot, Western blot ELISA analysis for many different gene products. Ability to generate maintain and organize reagents such as cell line stocks, antibodies, recombinant proteins and plasmids. Skill and knowledge to induce and purify recombinant proteins for biologic assays for use as antigens for the production of polyclonal and/or monoclonal antibodies. Ability to summarize and present results/conclusions in team meetings. Develop and optimize the new technology termination siRNA to "silence" gene expression. This includes working out all the standard controls and utilizing both transfection and retroviral transduction methods as needed. This may include the use of the GFP gene or a similar reporter gene. Operate inverted light microscopes, UV light microscopy, with photo documentation. Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment to include minimum spectrophotometers, coulter counter, plate readers, UV illuminator, centrifuges, electrophoresis both vertical and horizontal. Skill in optimizing and being efficient at DNA and protein quantification using existing lab equipment. Skill in efficiency in DNA, RNA and Protein purification techniques as well as running Southern, Northern and Western analysis. Molecular cloning into mammalian and bacterial expression vectors. Ability to write specific methods and procedures for any of the mentioned experiments and techniques. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public. Ability to detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors in written correspondence. Ability to maintain files accurately, in paper and in software programs. Ability to effectively supervise personnel and complete all associated personnel actions in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to maintain and repair analytical instrumentation. Ability to operate a TECAN automation system, Ability to operate/optimize a CELLAVISTA reading system. Ability to construct new equipment.
