Join the Keysight team that develops state of the art mixed-signal integrated circuit solutions, enabling performance breakthroughs that differentiate our electronic test and measurement products. You will join a team developing SERDES solutions to enable terabit connectivity to our state-of-the-art custom ASIC designs, in both CMOS and biCMOS ASIC technologies. Your work will enable higher performance, lower power, and better system integration for these custom ASICs.

The successful person in this job will:

  • Have a strong background in multi-gigabit I/O circuits, including serializers and deserializers, Clock/Data Recovery, equalization techniques, NRZ and PAM-4 implementations.

  • Understand the channel-driven requirements for these circuits, so they can optimize a design for low power and robust design using the required technology.

  • Communicate well with the design team.

Job Qualifications

Education:

Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, with thesis work on mixed-signal IC design preferred, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with substantial experience in IC design.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years experience working on high speed SERDES circuits in advanced CMOS process nodes.

  • Experience must include at least one cycle of transistory level design, physical design, and silicon verification.

  • Experience with a 28 nm process node. Prefer 14 nm or newer.

  • Experience with 12.5 Gb/s serdes, experience, but prefer 28 GBaud, and PAM-4 experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of signal integrity and EM issues, especially related to serdes channel modelling.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, and ability to document and present results.

A strong candidate will also:

  • Have familiarity with programming and scripting languages to enable automation in the design, simulation, and testing of ICs.

  • Experience with mixed-mode simulation of analog and digital blocks, including behavioral modeling of analog circuits, using tools like verilog or verilogA for simulation.

  • Experience with PLLs, clock-data recovery circuits, and data converters.

  • Experience with custom high-speed digital data paths.

  • Experience with device modelling, thermal design, and IC package design.

  • Experience with synthesized digital design flows, using RTL descriptions to synthesize verified netlists for physical implementation.

Position is based in Santa Clara, CA. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to Santa Clara.

As a Design Verification engineer you will be a part of the full lifecycle of the device from kickoff, through design and verification to release to volume production. As well as executing system use-case simulations to verify the chip more thoroughly. Job Duties: * Execute the pre-silicon verification of mixed-signal IC products. * Implement mixed-signal test-benches to apply stimulus and checks to verify DUT behavior. * Write detailed verification plans to cover project requirements for DMS and/or top-level AMS functionality, and construct test cases exercising the plan. * Measure and interpret code coverage to guide test case construction to fully exercise the DUT. * Create SystemVerilog functional coverage models of mixed-signal circuits for voltages and currents, real numbers, integers, and digital logic. * Review the digital and analog design to provide guidance on Design for Verification architecture and features during chip development. * Evaluate system-level use-cases and re-create these in simulation. * Communicate with customers to understand system use-cases and to convey results. Simulate RTL and Gates SDF, including verifying chip-level timing between analog and digital circuits, as well as closed-loop simulation with analog behavioral models. * Familiar with use of constrained-random stimulus and automated checking verification environments, including constrained-random analog stimulus. * Familiarity with advanced verification and bug tracking tools and methods, including back-annotation of DV implementation into verification plan to show closure of functional requirements.
