Experienced Estimator - Houston Division

David Weekley Homes is seeking an Experienced Estimator to support the activities of the Estimating/Purchasing Department in our Houston Division.

This position will be responsible for the following:

• Assist with special projects as needed by the Estimating Team

• Estimate new plans and elevations including all plan options

• Create plan cutsheets - flooring and rafters

• Process plan changes and takeoff changes

• On-site field visits to validate take-offs

• Interact directly with builders, internal sales personnel and suppliers

Job Requirements:

• A MINIMUM of 2 Years Estimating Experience w/ a Home Building Company

• A degree in Construction Management is a plus

• Experience with JDEdwards, Autodesk Buzzsaw and Autodesk Design Review is a plus

• Must be proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office

• Excel, Word, Outlook

• Be able to read and understand blueprints

• Extremely strong organizational skills

• A self-starter who is able to work independently, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, detail oriented and able to handle deadlines

• Strong team player ethic and a positive attitude with the ability to be flexible and switch priorities easily

• Eager to take on challenges and learn new things
