Service Technician Level III

A Service Technician is responsible for providing service to our customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This can include: cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.

  • Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.

  • Overhaul gas or diesel engines.

  • Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.

  • Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.

  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.

  • Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.

  • Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility

We are currently seeking local temporary & full-time Assistants/Level I and Level II Technicians for our Jacksonville, FL location. LOCAL APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY! Responsibilities and Duties: Entry Level * Assist with the set up and help calibrate nondestructive testing equipment * Help conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection * Assist in establishing techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations * Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results * Interpret radiographers, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators * Organize and report test results * Perform specialized inspections * Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management Responsibilities and Duties: NDT Level II Technician * Conduct NDT inspections * Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes * Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools * Protect the intellectual property rights of the Company * Function as a team lead when appropriate * Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced inspectors * Set up, conduct test, and calibrate equipment * Work independently and support team members * Prepare reports and other documents in a timely, accurate manner * Interface daily with client about work priorities and projects * Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management Minimum Requirements: * Entry Level - Local to Jacksonville, FL * NDT Level II at least 1 year of experience testing equipment, testing procedures, and the ability to perform tests and properly document results. * Shop math and print reading skills * Ability to use computers for data entry * Working knowledge of manufacturing processes * Ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to solve problems * Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. * Excellent communication skills written and verbal * Applicants must complete a drug screen and have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record Work Conditions: * Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. * May be required to travel to client locations and sites. * Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. * Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to investigations.
