This job is responsible for multiple duties including, but not limited to performing month-end close functions, complex balance sheet reconciliation, recommends action by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, analyzes critical accounts, calculates financial adjustments, ensures proper accounting of cash. Maintains thorough understanding of data, information resources, and processes. Acts as liaison for the department with banks, auditors, vendors and internal departments. Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.

Work Experience

Required

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience working with little supervision (with degree). A minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience (without degree).

Certifications

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of lock box reconciliation, electronic remittance posting, and general accounting principles preferred.

  • Requires data analytics, data cleaning and data mining experience.

  • Requires strong excel, analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Able to resolve problems positively and professionally.

  • Demonstrate an ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Duties

  • Performs complex balance sheet reconciliation of all high-volume activity in bank accounts, ensuring outstanding transactions are cleared from the reconciliation in a timely basis.

  • Watchful for reconciliation issue/error trends and communicates trends with manager, supervisor and team members to facilitate root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.

  • Recommend action by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.

  • Analyze critical accounts such as, the cash clearing accounts and calculate financial adjustments and ensure proper accounting of cash.

  • Maintain thorough understanding of data, information resources, and processes.

  • Help develop policy and procedures of the department.

  • Act as liaison for the department with banks, auditors, vendors and internal departments

  • Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Promote team environment and meet department goals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned
