SUMMARY

Inbounds and stages products from the manufacturing plants. Outbounds LTL and TL shipments.

Responsible for the care in handling of products to ensure parts are accurately inbounded, staged and placed on carriers equipment without damage. Must be flexible with work hours and conditions to meet customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.

Maintains a good housekeeping standard of neatness and cleanliness in areas of responsibility, enabling KSC to maintain a safe, clean and efficient workplace.

Must look for ways to reduce product damage and loss.

Help coordinate the movement of products in the warehouse to facilitate the space available.

Ensures shortages, damages and accidents are reported to the Supervisor immediately.

Helps maintain an accurate computer locator system within the warehouse to allow for quick identification and location of all items.

Follow up on order shortages to ensure customer orders are shipped complete.

Be careful handling products with lifts to ensure safe and damage free parts.

Use computer to stage, ship and communicate.

Cross trains and assists with all inbound and outbound distribution functions to include the Wood and Metal plant docks.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Minimum of 1 year in a computerized shipping environment as well as actual floor experience preferred.

  • Legible and accurate writing skills are a necessity.

  • Must be able to operate clamps and forks on lifts with a high degree of efficiency.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
